Introducing ctrlc.ai: Where ideas begin

ctrlc.ai is a visual reference platform for AI-generated images, and every image on it is published with the exact prompt that made it. Find an image you like, copy the prompt, and change the parts you need.
Making an AI image takes seconds. Finding out which words set its lighting, texture, or framing is the slow part, because the prompt is rarely shown next to the image.
Why we built it
Generative models evolved faster than the workflows supporting them. While a short prompt can produce a compelling visual, the knowledge that shapes that output stays scattered across community threads and private notes. Finding the right modifier for directional rim light or tactile paper grain often requires hours of trial and error.
We think of prompt writing as a repeatable craft, and a craft is easier to learn when you can see the work. So every image comes with its prompt, ready to study, copy, and change.
The state of visual references
Most reference platforms organize human-made work. Pinterest collects broad ideas. Dribbble and Behance showcase portfolio pieces, and Mobbin documents verified product UI. Cosmos.so and Are.na focus on curating and connecting. Each serves a distinct phase in traditional design.
AI images need one more thing. If you want to make something similar, the image alone is not enough; you also need the prompt behind it. On ctrlc.ai, the image and its prompt are published together as one reference.
Who it is for
ctrlc.ai is for designers, marketers, founders, and creative directors who need a clear visual direction, whether for a product launch, an early campaign concept, or a client moodboard.
You can copy a prompt in one click, save images to collections, and use the images themselves in commercial work, since every gallery image is released under CC0.
Curating the initial library
An empty library is not much use, so we did not wait for submissions. We generated the first images ourselves and published each one with the exact prompt we used, so every prompt on the site is one that produced the image next to it.
Our vision
We want ctrlc.ai to be the place you check before writing a prompt from scratch: a library of images with their prompts, organized into topic collections, alongside free image tools and blog tests on what changes an output and what does not.
Getting started
Start by browsing the gallery, copy a prompt that is close to what you need, and try it in your own tool. You will still iterate, but you will start from a result instead of a blank prompt.
